Hi, I’m Erin! A meteorologist, explorer, and self-proclaimed Cloud Whisperer.
Ever since I saw the movie “Twister” at 10 years old, I knew I wanted to chase weather for a living. That drive turned into a 20 year career in the military, serving in both the Air Force and the Navy, where I got to live out my dream all around the world. I officially retired in 2024, but my passion for weather continues.
Now I’m checking off a lifelong bucket-list item, not just visiting Antarctica (and officially hitting all seven continents!), but living and working here through the U.S. Antarctic Program (USAP).
I created this blog to share the experience with family and friends back home to show what it’s really like to live and work in the coldest, most remote place on Earth.
