Hello family and friends! I started this blog to share my upcoming journey to Antarctica for the austral summer season.
I’m not sure what type of connectivity I will ultimately have, but I will do my best to share as I am able this unique adventure. Any new posts can be found to the right under “Recent Posts”
I will be one of two meteorologists at the Western Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) Divide supporting the Ice Core Project, providing aviation support to LC-130‘s (New York ANG), and METAR observations for climatology (ICAO: WSD).
At our field camp, we will have 12 permanent party folks for the entire summer season (Oct-Feb) and can bolster up to 40-50 personnel when aircrew and scientists come throughout the season.

WAIS Divide is located 891NM from McMurdo Station and is located at: 79° 29.000′ S 112° 5.000′ W
